Genuinely cannot understand the poor reviews on this product. It is clearly NOT an air conditioning unit-they cost upward of £300. This is a cooling fan and does exactly what it says. It’s a neat, smart looking unit that comes with easy to follow instructions. All you need to do is push the wheel casters into place, stick the batteries in the remote and your good to go.There is an easy to fill water reservoir in the back that you fill with cold water , add in the frozen ice packs that come supplied and turn it on. It sends a nice cool breeze into the room and you can set it to oscillate so the internal fins move the air around. I can feel the breeze sat around 3 meters away with the medium setting. The noise level is about the same as a standard fan although a standard fan simply moves warm air around. This unit cools the air first so is far superior. You do get the occasional gurgle as it pulls water through but nowhere near the “Jumbo jet engine “ noise one reviewer mentioned😂This will be ideal to cool us and our pet down during hot weather. As long as you do not have unrealistic expectations I fully recommend it.

I have now owned my air cooler for three years. It has been an absolute godsend in the hot clammy weather that we have been having over the last few years. The blue filter in the back of my unit needed replacing after we had washed it a few times. You cannot buy them on Amazon so I used google to find Igenix website. I used the contact form to contact customer service, they replied within an hour with the price £6.95 + VAT & the phone number to order.I notice that the Amazon price at £81.96 is cheaper than the Igenix website price of £99.95 but they do have them in stock. Just giving buyers the information so they can make an informed choice. In summary, yes, it’s not an air conditioner but it does the job & is far less expensive. I would buy this unit again in a heartbeat if I needed to, although I hope that it will keep working for a good few years more!

Works very well, cools the room down with just cold water in the tank. Comes with ice packs that you can freeze and reusue which is handy. Haven’t tried with ice yet as it’s not been hot enough, current temperature is hitting around 25-27°c and cold water is working fine for that.Myself and my partner have our gaming PC’s on for most of the time we are awake and our rooms can get quite hot, in general our place gets rather hot and we have mosquitos that come out at night so we don’t open our windows at night because of that, and have been using fans.Decided to get this air-cooler and wish we got it sooner! Quite sleek, easy to roll around the house, easy control with remote or direct on device. Husband uses it more than I do because he tends to feel a lot more hot than I do, he’s loving it.

Impressed by the JML type cube coolers during last summer’s heatwave and this kit is as stunning. Ambient indoor temperature this Easter Sunday was 25.6°C/78.1°F, a thermometer taped to the front fins with only its fan blowing (without cooling function activated) was 25.1°C/77.2°F. Only 12 minutes later after turning on the evaporative cooling feature, this dropped to 20.9°C/69.6°F and 30 minutes later it had plunged to 19.8°C/67.6°F, incredibly without any ice blocks, just tap water.Stunning cooling without the need to either drill a hole in the wall to vent out of or chuck ducting out of the window. We eventually needed to turn it off as a few knees we getting chilly! It’s not silent so we’ve another Igenix fan we might use them side-by-side through the summer for whichever’s needed; only problem there is that either remote used will turn both of them on as they’re the same brand.Amazing cooling so bought another for partner’s mum!Even at lower temps, in the hall I got a reduction from 19.1°C to 16.6°C and then got another 1°C adding some ice-blocks, the first use was without blocks.Brilliant product. They call them “swamp coolers” in America and the science behind it is been used for thousands of years.Bring on Summer!!!**edit June 2020** brought out the tryuty evappy cooler again, still doing great work. with a reference temp on top comparing to a dangling thermometer in front of the vents, it’s over 10 degrees F cooler. I’ve boxed up Air-Con if it gets hotter, but this unit is amazingly effective.. like the Arctic Coolers you fill with water for desk use, but on steroids! highly recommend with or without using ice blocks

Wow what can I say, have had this on for an hour and the whole room is cooled down nicely already, without the ice packs!! My room is 15ft by 15ft the Igenix does not even need to be by you to feel the cool air on these hot days! 2 year warranty to!! Wish I would of bought sooner!!!!

Working from home means a bit more flexibility…but no office air conditioning. This evaporative cooler cools my office (4m x 3.5m) quite well, does not take up much space (shorter than my desk and a footprint the size of a biscuit tin), and is pretty quiet. Take a look at the photo- the “indoor” reading on the thermometer on top is the temperature on top (24.5degC) and the “outdoor” reading is the air exiting the front (21.5degC)- 3degC cooling as it passes through is pretty good and it does cool my whole office down by quite a bit more than this over time (exact performance will vary with temperature, humidity, if the window is open etc). If you need a quicker fix, sitting in front of it can actually make you feel cold. Obviously it is not an airconditioner, so it won’t make your room as cold, as quickly as one would- but this is around £300 cheaper than a small model, only uses 55W and does not need a pipe out the window. It comes with ice packs to make the water tank cooler, but I have not needed them yet (and, to be honest, I doubt they will help much, as this cools by evaporating water, which takes a lot more heat that that needed to warm up the water a few extra degrees), and the 6L tank means it is not too heavy to move around, even when full (although you may want to empty it when carrying it upstairs!). It has a range of fancy functions to simulate a natural breeze, turn itself off after a few hours etc, but the fan and the cooling work well, and that is what I really care about. The only fault I have is with the instructions, which read a bit like they were written by a non-first language English speaker, and obscure a couple of important points- nowhere does it state that you need to have the humidification function turned on for it to work as an evaporate cooler, and that the button labelled “mode” in the instructions with 3 dots “…” on the remote turns this on/off (as well as the 3 drips button on the main device)Also make sure you don’t remove the water tank when the power is on. Again the instructions are not clear and suggest it is possible to remove it 1/3 of the way while on. After a couple of messes, I think turning it off and waiting two minutes is a better plan (no further issues)

So glad a brought this cooler. My fan just wasn’t quite doing it.It produces a lovely breeze with just the fans on, when you put ice and cool blocks in it you can feel the difference with the breeze that touches you but doesn’t cool down a whole room. So if your looking to buy it as an air con unit this is the wrong thing to go for. If your looking to buy it as a much better fan with good cooking options this is the one

This is first ever air cooler I have had, before this I have always used a standard pedestal fan, and I would have to say that on the humidifier setting the air coming out of this fan is far cooler than the air that comes out of a pedestal fan. Many people expect this fan to cool the room, remember its not a air conditioner which costs an average of 3-6 times the price of this fan, this is a air cooler, the air that comes out of this fan when on humidifier setting will only cool the person to whom the air blowing at, it will not make the room feel colder like an air conditioner. Some people comment that this air cooler is same as a normal fan, that is correct if you use without the humidifier setting, but with the humidifier setting the air is much cooler than compared to a normal fan, i use this fan with 3 ice blocks and cold water which i keep in the fridge in two 2 litre bottles, this way the water is very cold which results in even colder air, but even without the cold water and ice packs the air is colder than a standard fan.Now that I’ve tried an air cooler i will never go back to using a normal fan, because in really hot weather a normal fan blows out the same temperature air which is in the room and it does not cool your body down too much, but the air cooler definitely blows out colder air than the air temperature in the room which feels a bit like your in from of an air conditioner especially when the air is blowing directly at you.Considering this air cooler cost the same as many pedestal fans which i have bought over the years, i would say its definitely worth it, if you’ve never used an air cooler, then give it a try, its definitely better than a normal fan.

Some reviews reveal unrealistic expectations of this unit. IT IS NOT AN AIR-CONDITIONER! Only had a few days and not yet used ice packs. My Dormer large windowed home office faces South and any sunshine makes it like a furnace and I have to work in my underwear or naked! This unit stands about 1 meter from my desk and cools me even when I’m clothed – not the whole room. [well, maybe a bit!] I had one of those nasty small plastic cube models last summer: great if it would work or stop leaking – this unit works on a similar principle but has none of the cube’s dreadful faults. Similar sized units to the IG9703 are available yet at a considerably higher cost. The IG9703 looks well made – holds a lot of water and without water is light to carry around. Reviews and Questions show that instructions could be a little clearer regarding the Sleep setting/Timer and I am thankful for clarification by other more experienced users. Those pieces of blue foam are for transit packing only and should be removed before use although instructions do not mention this. Hey – this has a remote control, what more could you want! I’m looking forward to using this in my hot room – and hope it holds out during prolonged use.

Whats it is great for:- Being a Fan, at its most basic it’s a great fan, with approximately 1/3 the foot print of a 16″ pedestal fan, oscillation is built in so no turning and when it’s not being used it sits away in the corner.- Humidifying/Cooling – Fill the tank with (ideally) cold water and ice (or ice blocks) and the air coming out is significantly cooler, with out the ice you will still notice it but it is not as pronounced. As it is adding moisture back in to the air it is great to use like this even if the cooling is not needed, if you have central heating the air can get very dry and this makes it more comfortable. If you are using it to humidify you don’t need it to point at you. What it is not great for:Air conditioning – it has to point at you to get the cooling effect, it depends on moisture and air movement for evaporative cooling. It will not make a room noticeably cooler, but it is NOT an air conditioner.Moving heavy pallets – It can move heavy items because it is NOT a Fork Lift or Pallet truck (either). My wife has MS and heat effects her very badly, this made the worst nights and days of the summer much more bearable for her. We made our own ice blocks in take away food tubs and tipped 3 or 4 into the tank with a little cold water, also being a fan it uses about 70 watts of power, where even a small air conditioner would take approx 3-3.5KW. A great buy
